Documentation

Before a funder can approve your application, they will take steps to ensure that the finance you are applying for is affordable for your business, i.e., you will be able to afford the repayments, and to assess whether there any potential risks to consider.

To allow them to do this, they will request various documentation at the beginning of the process. This documentation can often be submitted electronically to improve security and speed up the process.

Of course, every business and finance application is unique, so the documentation required will vary, but below are the most commonly requested types of documentation.

Documentation that may be required to support your application.

  • Full set of accounts
  • Full set of draft accounts
  • UTD management information, including Profit & Loss and Balance sheet
  • Business bank statements OR access to open banking
  • The structure or organisation chart for the group of companies
  • Net Worth Statements
  • Details of existing finance agreements
  • Proof of ID (KYC Checks)
  • AML (anti-money laundering) checks
  • Signed documentation (using e-sign where necessary)
  • Stage payment or payment schedule information

New business vs an established business

New Start Business

We have access to funders who will be able to fund your new business from day one, but the required documentation may be different to what a more established business would be asked to provide.

Typically, funders will ask new start businesses to provide:

  • Your last (full) filed set of accounts.
  • Up to date management information (including both a profit & loss statement, as well as either a personal asset, liability, income and expenditure breakdown (PAILIE or net worth statement/permission to search document).
  • It is often helpful for your business to provide some background and requirements including how the asset/funds will benefit the business longer term (such as funds for an expansion, or an asset that will bring in additional income).
  • If your business is brand new, isn't trading yet, or has only just started trading, a full business plan is a necessity.

I have forgotten my username and/or password, what do I do?

Your username will be the email address provided, usually a business email address. If you have forgotten your password, please follow the forgotten password link.

If you have any further problems, please contact Bluestone, or your dedicated Account manager.

Why can’t I view other applications that my colleagues have submitted?

To be able to view your colleagues’ applications you will require specific permissions set by Bluestone. Please contact your dedicated account manager to enquire.

If the equipment changes once the Finance documents have been issued, am I able to amend it?

Once finance documents have been raised and issued, you would be required to contact Bluestone’s dedicated support managers who can assist with any required amendments.

Is there a cost associated with the portal?

No, using the Bluestone is completely free, no strings attached!

What if the portal isn’t working, who do I contact?

If you're having trouble with the portal, send us an email at portal@bluestone.app, or contact your dedicated account manager who will be able to look into the issue asap.

How do I change my account preferences, so I don’t have to update them every time?

You can update all your account preferences in the My Preferences, Company Defaults, and Company Preferences sections once you're logged into the portal. You'll find these by clicking on the arrow next to your picture in the top-right hand side of the portal.

What if I make a mistake during my application?

You can amend an in-progress application via the Portal - or give our friendly team a call. They’re always available during business hours, and will be able to access your Portal account to see, amend or cancel your in-progress application.

How quickly will I receive a quote?

In most cases, decisions will be made and quotes will appear within your Portal Dashboard within minutes.

Who are the lenders that the Portal gives access to?
