Divisional Manager

Jo is one of our indispensable divisional managers and, after more than 18 years with the company, is one of our longest-serving team members.

The early years

Jo grew up in Bailliff Bridge, a village near Brighouse in West Yorkshire where she spent a lot of her time riding her bike and playing netball, including playing for the school netball team.

Jo’s first job was in a restaurant at the age of 13 where she was cleaning dishes, but by that age Jo had already decided on a future career. She eventually realised that ambition at the age of 19 when she became a police officer.

The world of work and Bluestone

‘I was a police officer for 2 years, but I found I couldn’t accept the justice system as it was then. I then spent some time in audio visual sales before joining Bluestone, and I’ve stayed put ever since.’

In addition to her years of experience and expertise in commercial finance, Jo is well-known in the Bluestone office for her playful personality and caring nature, all of which makes her an ideal divisional manager for our regional account managers.

‘In my role as a divisional manager I’m responsible for advising, motivating and supporting a team of regional account managers to ensure they have all the resources and tools they need to provide the best possible service to their clients.’

Getting to know Jo

Jo’s biggest pet peeve is ‘people moaning about problems they have created’, and she sums up her approach to life and work with just a few words:

‘No regrets, no baloney, no time for nonsense.’

It’s this honest, direct, and fair approach to her relationships that prompts Jo’s co-workers to describe her as tenacious, trustworthy, fair, always up for a chat, and a ‘dream to work with’.

An incredibly proud mum, in her free time Jo enjoys nothing more than ‘spending time with my beautiful family', especially if they can spend that time on a beach in Barbados.
